How do I access library resources when I'm not on campus?

Answer

Whether you're traveling abroad, visiting family across the country, or just at home attending Mines Online, you should have access to nearly all online library resources off campus. Online resources include ebooks, articles, databases, streaming videos, and more.

To make your access seamless, we recommend starting at the library websitesearching the Library Catalog, or browse our Databases A-Z list. However, there are far more options available from third parties. For example:

  • Browse eJournals on BrowZine
  • Use tools approved by the library including browser extensions: LibKey Nomad, EZProxy Redirect Extension for Chrome, Zotero Connector, Google Scholar, and Proxy Bookmarklet
  • Add the proxy prefix before links (https://mines.idm.oclc.org/login?url=). Update bookmarks with this prefix.

If you are having trouble accessing resources off-campus, review our Off-Campus Research Guide or contact the library for e-resources help.
